Channels changing names

You might have noticed some changes in your TDS channel lineup.

No, you’re not losing your mind.

  • ABC Family has rebranded and is now known as Freeform.  The new channel will focus more on shows geared for viewers between the ages of 14 and 34, a target audience the network has coined “Becomers.”
  • CMT Pure Country has taken a new moniker and is now CMT Music.
  • VHI Soul became BET Soul earlier this month.
  • The biggest change in terms of programming will occur on Feb. 29, when Viceland launches, replacing H2, a sister network of the History Channel. Viceland, which started as a punk magazine in Canada in the early 1990s, is expected to offer a series of shows that highlight people and places not associated with mainstream culture. Gaycation looks at what it means to be LGBT in different countries around the world. Weediquette examines the business and etiquette of marijuana. And Huang’s World follow’s culinary rock star Eddie Huang as he treks across the globe.
