Between the World and Me
Based on No. 1 New York Times bestselling nonfiction book by Ta-Nehisi Coates, this HBO special largely follows the 2018 stage adaptation of Between the World and Me. Coates’ book follows the deep history of Black culture, racism, and violence in America, framed as a letter to his son. Additionally, this special includes an artistic combination of readings from the book, beautiful animations, and archival footage. Popular Hollywood stars such as Oprah Winfrey, Mahershala Ali, Mimi Jones, and Angela Davis offer the special exclusive look into the actors’ home lives as well.

The Cost of Winning
From former football pro and Emmy-winning executive producer Michael Strahan comes this inspirational four-part docuseries. Following the 2019 season of St. Frances Academy football team, this special presents the real-life story of team expelled from their private-school league on the basis of being “too good.” As a result of the expulsion, the team embarks on a search of worthy competition across the country, tracking down other gifted teams to play in order to fulfill the players’ hopes of receiving impressive scholarships. This docuseries offers an inspiring look at power of athletics to serve as a unifying force in the face of adversity.

Industry
Released just weeks ago, this British television drama series depicts the high-stakes world of the international finance through the eyes of determined young adults hoping to secure a position at a reputable bank in London. Already the newly released series has earned favorable reviews on several television review sites, such as Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes.

His Dark Materials
Based on author Philip Pullman’s beloved trilogy, His Dark Materials follows Lyra, a brave young woman from another world. Lyra’s quest to find her kidnapped friend leads her to uncover a sinister plot of a secret organization, encounter extraordinary beings and protect dangerous secrets.

The Undoing
From writer David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies) and director Susanne Bier (The Night Manager), the new limited series focuses on Nicole Kidman’s Grace Fraser, a successful therapist, and her devoted husband, Jonathan (Hugh Grant), and their young son who attends an elite private school in New York City.
