Spike now called Paramount Network

Several networks have re-branded themselves over recent years and starting Jan. 18, Spike will join the crowd as it becomes Paramount Network. The new name will also include a broader lineup of new and original programming.

The launching of Paramount Network will kick off with Lip Sync Battle Live: A Michael Jackson Celebration on Thursday, Jan. 18, 8 p.m., central. In consultation with The Estate of Michael Jackson, the one-hour special will include music and performances by Michael Jackson. The show will be broadcast LIVE at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

Migrating over to Paramount Network will include the most-watched series from Spike — Ink Master, Bar Rescue, and Bellator MMA.

On Jan. 24, a six-part miniseries called Waco, about David Koresh and the Branch Davidians will premiere. The miniseries stars Taylor Kitsch, Michael Shannon, and John Leguizamo.

Also watch for two original comedy series. The first, Heathers, is a “modern-day re-imagining” of the dark comedy from 1988 (the original staring Christian Slater and Winona Ryder) premiering March 7. The second stars Alicia Silverstone and Mena Suvari, in a show called American Woman, set amid the sexual revolution and rise of feminism in the 1970s (premieres June 7).

There’s also a new drama coming, staring the award-winning Kevin Costner. Yellowstone centers on one family who controls the largest ranch in the United States.  Reports describe the show as a cinematic in tone and production. The show premieres June 20, and since apparently it’s one of the most expensive series in TV history, it could be quite epic.

Paramount Network is a general entertainment destination focused on delivering bold, original, premium-quality scripted network series, specials and events.
