TDS required to take stations off air in select cities in New Mexico and Cortez, Colorado

For the past few weeks TDS has been negotiating with Tamer Media to renew our contract to carry KASY- My 50 TV and KWBQ-CW in select cities in New Mexico and Cortez, Colo. Despite our best efforts, an agreement has not been reached. Since our contract ended June 30, TDS no longer has the rights to carry these channels:

KASY-My 50 TV:
Channel 12 in Alamogordo
Channel 11 in Carlsbad
Channel 13 in Hobbs
Channel 13 in Lovington
Channel 12 in Ruidoso
Channel 9 in Cortez

KWBQ-CW:
Channel 9 in Alamogordo
Channel 5 in Carlsbad
Channel 21 Hobbs
Channel 21 in Lovington
Channel 9 in Ruidoso

TDS is always looking for ways to keep your overall bill as low as possible. With this and every negotiation, TDS is advocating on your behalf for fair and reasonable rates. Steep increases in programming costs are a constant concern and we will continue to keep your pocketbook in mind.

Our research indicates some viewers have found alternative ways to watch the content that is broadcast on these stations for free.  This includes watching shows on CWTV.com.  Access to all shows is available beginning at 11 p.m. the night the show airs.  In addition, CW shows are available on Netflix.

Thank you for your patience and support as we keep working on your behalf. And, as always, thank you for being a TDS customer.

Well, looks like a life long cable customer will be going to Satellite. Losing 4 channels without replacements since the beginning of the year was bad enough, but losing the CW, final straw.

      Hi Dan,
Unfortunately, we were required to take those stations off the air in select cities in New Mexico and in Cortez, Colorado. I’m not sure where you live, but on July 26 we added BBC America in Carlsbad, Hobbs, Ruidoso and Lovington, N.M. and Cortez, Colo. and Aug. 2 we added WE tv in Carlsbad, Hobbs, Lovington and Ruidoso, N.M.

Just realized I don’t have CW channel any more. So no more Supergirl, Arrow, Legends, or Flash. Guess I will start looking at replacing TDS seeing as it is going to cost me $100 for all 4 shows to stream off Amazon.

      Dear Jasen,
Here is the link to the CW app. Your favorite CW shows are available at no cost via the app at http://www.cwtv.com/thecw/the-cw-app

      Hope this helps, Cheryl
