TDS is planning for an amazing 2024 Paris Olympic Games

NBCUniversal will air 2024 Paris Olympic Games coverage, including daytime broadcasts with live swimming, gymnastics and track and field finals, plus every sport and event streamed live on NBCUniversal brought to you on TDS. The 2024 Paris Olympic Games officially opens July 26, 2024, with an outdoor Opening Ceremony along the Seine River in downtown Paris airing live on the networks of NBCUniversal.

With Paris being seven hours ahead of Central Time, most of the premier medal events will take place during the afternoon in the United States. NBCUniversal will air at least nine hours of daytime coverage per day, including live finals. Live coverage will generally air weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., CT, and live coverage during weekends will be held 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., CT. Primetime will be held 7 to 10 p.m., CT and while there will not be any live coverage during that time, there will be highlights and features on athletes and behind the scenes stories.

The latest schedule version has swimming finals starting at 1:30 p.m. CT (except the last day, when it is 1:30 CT), gymnastics finals starting between 6 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. and track and field finals sessions starting at 1 p.m. (except marathons and race walks).

Peacock will air all 329 medal events live, the first for a streaming service. Peacock will also have full-event replays, all NBCUniversal programming, curated video clips, virtual channels and exclusive original programming.

Telemundo will have extensive Spanish-language coverage throughout each day, highlighted by men’s and women’s soccer, with additional cable coverage on Universo.

The Paris Olympics start Friday, July 26 and goes through Sunday, Aug. 11. This will be the third time Paris has hosted the Olympics (1900 and 1924), tying London for the most as a host.

Organizers are reimagining the Olympics to make them more accessible to the public and to showcase their city to the world. In a first, competitions will be held amidst iconic Parisian landmarks – beach volleyball at the Eiffel Tower, equestrian at the Palace of Versailles, and urban sports at Place de la Concorde. The surfing competition will take place nearly 10,000 miles from Paris in Tahiti, a part of French Polynesia.

Participating in this 2024 Paris Olympic Games will include about 10,000 athletes, 206 nations, 39 sports, and a new sport this year is Breaking (break dancing).
