As TDS has grown and evolved, the time was right to give the retail offices in our cable communities a fresh new look.
Retail offices in St. George, Cedar City, Mesquite, Alamogordo, Arvada, Woodland Park, and Estes Park have all been updated. Offices in Ruidoso, Carlsbad, Hobbs, and Berthoud will be done by the end of this month and Fort Carson’s interior office is being outfitted with new posters.
Exterior spaces were updated with new window decals featuring lifestyle imagery and added copy to promote internet, TV, and phone services for home and business. Additionally, our 1Gig internet speeds—new to many of our cable markets—were highlighted. Periodic future updates can be easily switched out to include new products such as TV+. In Alamogordo, an additional element to care for was a large billboard affixed to the side of the retail office. This will begin to be updated regularly, as marketing campaigns and promotional strategies change.
Interior posters were modernized and include customer-facing promotional messaging, and general home and business products, which will help increase customer awareness of our offerings.
Studies show remodeling an office provides three benefits:
- Provides customers and staff with new efficiencies
- Enhances the customer’s in-store experience
- Shows customers you’re innovative
Amanda Shippee, associate manager of Central Marketing who assisted in coordinating the project, said the renovation project was kicked off in June after employees reported exterior signage needed freshening up. “These updates will have immediate and lasting effects for our staff and for connecting with our customers. The new signage is a vast improvement that should resonate with people in the communities we serve,” said Amanda.
Initial concepts were developed by Cassandra Deavers, senior administrator of Graphic Design. From there TDS’ advertising firm, Relic Agency, tweaked minor elements of the designs and sized everything to suit the various window dimensions and quantities for each office.
Since most of our retail offices are leased rather than owned, TDS also had to receive landlord approval for the changes prior to installation. Amanda thanked TDS’ Katie McDonald, administrator of Real Estate, for her help in securing those approvals.
Installations began in mid-December and all offices will be remodeled by the end of January.
Thanks to the retail office Consumer Sales Supervisors Tiauna Bundy, Lucresha Chenault, and Debra Hernandez who helped provide measurements, took office photos, and were instrumental with coordinating installation logistics. Field Marketers Brenda Cody, Katy Shiverdecker, and Barbara Mick also provided office pictures and measurements, were available during installations, and gave a sense of how the existing signage was holding up. Following the completion of the work at the St. George office (below), Tiauna said the updates look “GREAT” and thanked the team. “It’s a much more welcoming look and my team really appreciates our new look too!”
