Hundreds of students will learn how to Be Safe Online during a high-energy, educational program at Santa Clara Elementary on Monday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. (NOTE NEW DAY)
With children and teens spending more time than ever watching or using screens, TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is offering an internet safety program to keep them safe. The program will educate families on internet safety and include tips on smart internet use.
With its Be Safe Online program TDS is partnering with Utah Tech University students to spread the word to young students about safe internet habits.
“Elementary school students will learn about internet safety in a fun and engaging way,” said Wendi Bulkley, associate manager of Field Marketing. “During the week, they receive educational handouts with online safety tips and topics to encourage family conversations. Students are asked to sign a safety pledge and when they return the form to school, they receive a free t-shirt with internet safety messaging on the shirt. During the assembly, students will be taught a memorable rap song to help them remember these safety principles.”
