Centric Cable Network to rename itself to BET Her

The first network designed for Black Women is renaming itself to BET Her. Starting Sept. 25,  BET Networks and Viacom will rename Centric cable network to BET Her.

For some history, Centric was previously called BET on Jazz, then renamed to BET Jazz, then BET J, before turning into Centric in 2009.

Now starting this fall, Centric turns into BET Her. Targeting African American Women 25-54, BET Her now more closely aligns with the flagship brand.

BET Her invites viewers on a journey through music, culture, travel, news and lifestyle – everything that is important to “Her” being. The only network dedicated to African American women 24 hours a day. Centric airs Family Matters, The Soul Man, Eve, Half & Half, and In the House.

TDS Cable packages impacted: Cedar City, Utah (channel 186), Cortez, Colo. (channel 293), Mesquite, Nev. (channel 293) and St. George, Utah (channel 293)
