Since 2007, Guy Fieri has traveled coast to coast in his Food Network show “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.” In each state, he visits small restaurants with extraordinary food. He interviews owners and customers, learns unique cooking techniques, and samples items from the menu. Over the years, he has traveled all over Colorado, stopping at more than 25 restaurants. Here are six of Guy’s favorite diners, drive-ins, and dives in Colorado.
Nothing beats Grammy’s recipes. This Italian family first started cooking Grammy’s favorites and selling them at local festivals. When her cookies, meatballs, and pizza were devoured before the day’s end, the family knew the next step: opening a restaurant. In 2015, they did just that, dishing up larger-than-life Italian goodies in Wheat Ridge, just 10 minutes from the TDS community of Arvada.

After moving to Colorado from the Virgin Islands, Flynn and Mona Dickerson made it their mission to bring island-inspired tastes to the Denver community. For 20 years, their family restaurant, the Welton Street Café, has been serving up comfort food with a Caribbean twist. With dishes like pates, burgers, sandwiches, and wings, people from all backgrounds can gather and feed their souls.

As the first Puerto Rican food truck/restaurant in Denver, Areyto serves authentic favorites from the island, including gouda cheese balls, savory fritters, plantains, and turnovers. Because the truck makes several stops around Denver each week, it is accessible from multiple communities, especially Arvada. Check their Facebook page for locations and hours.

As its sign says, Zoe Ma Ma offers Coloradans “super yummy street food.” Edwin Zoe and his mama own this authentic Taiwanese Chinese restaurant. They serve traditional homemade meals in both Boulder and Denver. The menu includes potstickers, dumplings, tofu and veggies, sweet rice cake, and beef noodle soup.

Located in Fort Collins, Restaurant 415 takes innovative dishes to a new level. Their Brussels sprouts are flavored with orange juice, BLTs come with maple-flavored aioli, and the Provincial hot sandwich combines brie, caramelized onions, and blueberry jam. The chefs use local ingredients and offer several vegan and gluten-free options.

Spice Island Grill is the go-to spot for flavorful Jamaican food. In the restaurant, feast on island favorites while Reggae plays in the background. Since 2011, the owners have been serving traditional dishes like curry goat and oxtail stew. It is located in Colorado Springs, making it within 30 minutes from the TDS communities of Fort Carson and Woodland Park.
