P.A.W.S. at capacity in St. George, Utah

A local animal shelter in St. George, P.A.W.S. (Providing Animals With Support), is at full capacity and in need of donations.

TDS recently donated about $200 worth of ‘necessities’ that help keep their facility running smoothly, but more donations are needed. The shelter has the maximum number of cats at 155 and every dog kennel is full.

Items they currently need include: clumping cat litter, laundry detergent, paper towels, Clorox wipes, stamps and medical supplies.  They also are asking for financial donations as they take in the sick, injured, starved, seniors and pregnant animals which puts their monthly vet bill at an average of $8,000.

P.A.W.S. is a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer animal rescue organization founded in 2003. They rescue animals who are scheduled to be euthanized due to lack of space in shelters. They place them into foster homes or in their adoption center and then into quality permanent homes. P.A.W.S. relies solely on donations and volunteers.  People can drop of donations to their adoption center located at 1125 W 1130 N, St. George, Utah.

An upcoming event P.A.W.S. is hosting is the Low Cost Pet Wellness Clinic on Sept. 15, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. At the clinic, pets can receive vaccines, be spayed/neutered and microchipped.
